Grower Apprenticeship:BIPOC growers are strongly encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to applicants living or working in designated Opportunity Zones and the following Chicago communities: South Chicago, Englewood, West Woodlawn, and Auburn-Gresham.

Fees
Grower Apprenticeship:The tuition exchange for the program is $1700. Scholarships and payment plans are available - please do not let financial barriers prevent you from applying.Herbalism Apprenticeship:The tuition exchange for the program is sliding scale from $500-$1500 with a $100 materials fee.

Urban Growers Collective provides two apprenticeship programs under Farmers for Chicago. The Grower Apprenticeship is a 3-year practical adult education training program that guides participants towards commercially viable farm operations via cooperative growing, aggregation, and profit sharing. The Herbalism Apprenticeship requires a 100-hour commitment as participants learn to cultivate herbs, identify and observe the wild plants 'volunteering' alongside those intentionally planted.
