To become an LBFE member, one must be a Chicago, Northwest Indiana, or Kane and DuPage counties resident, be 70 years or older, and have limited social contacts or nearby family members.

LBFE provides a variety of services to individuals aged 70 and older. Services include home visitation, onsite social events, provided activities, food pantry, case management, and intergenerational programs. Services are also available in both English and Spanish.
