The office collaborates with all 99 county auditors and local election officials, manages the statewide voter registration system, trains election officials, and provides voter registration and education services. It facilitates the filing of nomination petitions for candidates seeking statewide, federal, legislative, and certain judicial offices. Additionally, the office supports absentee voting by arranging participation for eligible voters who are unable to appear at polling locations due to illness, military service, or other circumstances.
