  • Be 65 years of age or older
  • Own and live in the property as their principal residence
  • For Senior Freeze Program: total household income must be $65,000 or less

Offers various programs to help seniors save money on their property taxes. Programs include the following: Senior Homestead Exemption Lowers the equalized assessed value of the property by $8,000. Low-Income Senior Citizen's Assessment Freeze Provides protection against real estate tax increases for seniors with limited income. It is not a tax freeze or a tax reduction and does not protect against increased taxes due to tax rate increases. Applications are due by July 31 of each year.
