Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital

The Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital provides medical and social services for veterans and active duty service members, and offers programs for homeless veterans, women veterans, and LGBTQ+ veterans. Those who served in the active military, naval or air service and are separated under any condition other than dishonorable may qualify for VA health care benefits. Current and former members of the Reserves or National Guard who were called to active duty (other than for training only) by a federal order and completed the full period for which they were called or ordered to active duty may be eligible for VA health care as well.This agency also refers eligible clients needing home furniture to the Chicago Furniture Bank (CFB), which does not accept walk-ins or calls for furniture requests. Individuals requesting furniture may contact Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital staff to discuss further. Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital staff will work to assess the client's needs and schedule an appointment on their behalf.
