Eligibility
Must be resident of West Deerfield Township for at least 6 weeks and be able to provide proof of emergency hardship Must not have received Emergency Assistance funds in the past two years Must not be receiving monthly payments from welfare assistance programs (ok if awaiting decision letter), including:
  • Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
  • Social Security Income (SSI)
  • Aid to the Aged, Blind, Disabled (AABD)
  • Refugee and Repatriate Assistance (PRA)

  • Call to schedule interview with Township Supervisor and bring all documents to appointment

  • Paycheck stubs for every member of the family for the last 30 days

  • Birth certificates for all family members
  • Legal resident card/Green card
  • Social security cards for all family members

Offers financial aid to help Township residents prevent loss of home, job, or utilities. Funds are available once every two years and provide help to meet basic needs, including:
  • Preventing eviction or past due rent/mortgage
  • Preventing utility disconnection
  • Work-related expense necessary to getting or keeping a job (for example, uniform or licensing fees)
  • Cost of prescription medication
Amount of assistance determined on a case-by-case basis. Program does not disburse cash as all funds will be paid directly to vendors.
