Elk Grove Township offers the Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP) to qualifying resident homeowners. This program helps low-income residents save energy and money while increasing the comfort in their homes. This is achieved by installing necessary weatherization measures to slow the movement of heat energy between the inside and outside of homes. The entire process may take up to one year. Clients must have an income at or below 150% of the poverty level to qualify.
