Application process
Appointment Required. Participants must have a social security card, driver's license or ID, be able to display the ability to demonstrate basic math and reading skills on an aptitude test, and be able to pass a drug test. To apply, applicants must attend an information session. This process can be started by calling the office, emailing the staff, or visiting the organization's website.

Chicago Women in Trades' (CWIT) Women in Welding Program prepares women for entry-level welding jobs in the manufacturing sector with a curriculum consisting of courses in welding, leading to MIG welding American Welding Society certification, basic metalworking and blueprint reading, OSHA 10 certification, forklift driving certification, and workplace readiness and job search assistance. The 12-week Technical Opportunities Program (TOP) focuses on math, test preparation, physical conditioning, basic construction skills, job readiness, and provides hands-on experience.
