This program helps individuals seeking to learn English as a Second Language (ESL). Language is taught via practical skills, such as using a computer, registering to vote, filing tax returns, and taking public transit. The program also provides field trips around the city of Chicago for participants.Hispanic community members who do not know how to read and/or write in Spanish are offered UP's Mejorando Escritura y Lectura (MELE) program.
