Recipients are awarded up to $500 to pursue formal education or occupational training at an accredited Illinois educational institution. Funding is provided through the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG).
Designed to provide financial assistance to low-income and disadvantaged persons of high academic attainment or potential. Preference is given to applicants of racial or ethnic minorities.
Education and training made possible through the scholarships include either general education to achieve short-term training (two years or less) in high technology or growth occupation, or general post-secondary education.
