In addition to providing food, clothing, and other personal care necessities to anyone who requests them, staff additionally provides outreach assistance, including:
- Serving as a homeless warming center on especially cold winter days and a cooling center on very hot/humid days.
- Providing the homeless with bags of ice to help them cool off, personally, as well as to help keep fresh any food items they may have.
- SSVP Omaha staff visit homeless neighbors in their camps, providing essentials like food, water, blankets, and fuel. They also help connect them to critical services, such as medical care and housing.
Provides basic needs assistance, including food, clothing, financial/homeless prevention/utility and material assistance, disaster recovery case management and homeless assistance and outreach, to struggling families and individuals in the community.
