Safely relinquish unharmed newborn up to 30 days old to a person at any of the following facilities:
  • Police Station (including Campus Police)
  • Fire Station
  • Hospital
  • Emergency Medical Facility
Babies must be handed to a person at a Safe Haven location. No questions will be asked. No one will try to stop or follow parents. Documents Required: None

Offers parents of newborns a safe and legal alternative to abandonment. Allows for parents to hand unharmed infant to staff at a designated Safe Haven location. Parents will remain anonymous. Safe Havens include: -Police stations (including campus police station) -Fire stations -Hospitals -Emergency medical facilities Also provides a 24/7 confidential helpline to answer questions about the Safe Haven law.
