Angel of God Resource Center, Inc. (AOGRC) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly Food Stamps) helps low-income people and families buy the food they need for good health. Benefits are provided on the Illinois Link Card - an electronic card that is accepted at most grocery stores. The program is managed by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the United States Department of Agriculture. The Department of Human Services administers the program in Illinois.The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance and Employment Training program (SNAP E&T) is a federally funded, state-administered program that helps SNAP recipients gain skills, training, and work experience to find and keep a job. It provides services like career planning, job search assistance, job training, and support services for barriers like transportation and childcare. While some participants can volunteer for the program to meet work requirements, others who are not exempt from these requirements may be required to participate.
