Provides prescription drug and sharps disposal boxes for outdated or unused prescription drugs. The collection boxes are located in the police department lobby. Items acceptable for the prescription disposal box include:
  • Prescription medications, including controlled substances
  • All over-the counter medications
  • Medication samples
  • Pet medications
  • Vitamins and supplements
  • Medicated ointments, lotions, creams and oils
  • Liquid medication in leak-proof containers
  • Homeopathic remedies
Items not acceptable for deposit in the collection box are:
  • Needles/sharps
  • Syringes with needles
  • Thermometers
  • IV bags
  • Bloody or infectious waste
  • Personal care products
  • Empty containers
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
Sharps Container available in the lobby for needle disposal. Sharps include:
  • Syringes
  • Hypodermic Needles
  • Needles attached to tubing
  • Lancets
To properly dispose of needles, do the following:
  • Must use an approved disposal container that fits inside the disposal bin
  • DO NOT deposit any loose sharps into the collection bin
