- Lever door knobs.
- Additional lighting.
- Deadbolts and locks.
**Applications available starting March 1, 2025.**
Offers exterior repairs to porches, minor carpentry, and limited repairs to roofs and siding. Also provides critical home repairs, minor electrical work, and minor plumbing.
Weatherization work provided for windows, gutters, doors, and storm doors.
Provides smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.
Provides accessibility ramps, grab bars, railings and steps, limited flatwork, and limited bathroom modifications.
Unable to help with major renovations, foundations, and HVAC systems.

1 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $50,150;
2 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $57,300;
3 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $64,450;
4 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $71,600;
5 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $77,350;
6 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $83,100.
Provides seniors and/or disabled individuals minor home improvements to help remove barriers that may affect their health and safety in their home (such as repair of non-working heating system, mobility ramp, etc.). Applicant must be the homeowner and live in the home.
Assists income eligible seniors and disabled Sioux City homeowners who are in need of home repairs.
The program typically provides repairs to, but not limited to, the following:
- Electrical.
- Plumbing.
- Repairing roofs and soffits.
- Repairing masonry and concrete.
- Repairing porches.
- Furnishing and installing gutters and downspouts.
- Installing energy efficient doors.
- Renovating bathrooms.
- Widening interior doorways.
- Replacing door and window hardware.
- Installing grab bars or railings.
- Relocating laundry facilities to the main level.
Offers a variety of rental medical equipment and supplies.

Offers home maintenance repairs for elderly homeowners. Including, but not limited to snow removal, lawn mowing, small home repairs, roof repairs, carpentry/electrical/plumbing projects and wheel chair ramps.
May provide for modifications to the home and/or vehicle that directly address a person's medical health or are necessary to provide for the medical needs, welfare and safety of the individual and to increase or maintain independence.

Exterior home access assistance for all ages and incomes. Temporary and permanent solutions via ramps, modified exterior steps, and handrails. Referral information for funding, purchase, construction. Volunteer design and construction for financially eligible. Removal of aluminum and wood ramps no longer needed if WRAP could reuse or recycle. WRAP is 501c3 non-profit organization.

Caregiver services are available to informal or family caregivers of persons over the age of 60 or to grandparents raising grandchildren.
Services can include respite care (services that give caregivers a rest), home modification, assistive devices, transportation, and financial assistance.
Home modification projects to protect vulnerable individuals and families from harmful exposures to health and safety hazards, ramp installation and maintenance for qualifying individuals, and critical home repairs (roof, floor, bathroom, plumbing, etc.).
Services which enable persons with disabilities to acquire the skills necessary for independent living.
Barrier Removal and Information Center offers consultations to consumers, builders, businesses and organizations to increase accessibility within the home and community. Modifications to homes include redesigning living areas, and installing outside ramps and grab bars. In addition, grant assistance is offered to income- and geographically-eligible persons with disabilities.
Center for Independent Living services include information and referral, independent living skills training, financial benefits counseling, and awareness training for the general public and organizations regarding disability issues. In addition, the Center assists clients in the development and implementation of independent living plans in the following areas: home and financial management; social skills; sexuality; consumer and legal rights; peer counseling; equipment loan, repair and rental; and individual and systems advocacy.

Provides home improvement grants and/or low interest loans to repair deteriorated dwellings. Programs include:
- Minor Home Repair Program: provides grants and forgivable deferred payment loans to correct housing deficiencies of an immediate nature which threaten the health or safety of the occupant of the home or the structural integrity of the building.
- Home Accessibility Retrofit Program: provides grants or loans to eliminate barriers, modify the layout, or add structural accessories/improvements to the dwelling to make it more accessible for occupants with disabilities. May also be used to make "visibility" modification to dwelling units to allow immediate family members with disabilities to visit the subject property.
- Accessory Structure Demolition Program: provides grants or forgivable deferred loans for homeowners to demolish unsafe structures on their property.
- Residential Exterior Rehabilitation Program: provides a 50/50 matching grant or 0% interest loan to repair and bring up to code the living structure.
Services for individuals with disabilities. Includes information and referral, service coordination, independent living skills training, individual and system advocacy, equipment loan and rental, barrier removal consultations and grants, and disability awareness training. Assists people with disabilities to transition from nursing homes to community based living.
