The Campbell Fund distributes funds to those that are considered very low income for temporary financial needs. Help given is to cover basic needs.
The Campbell fund will consider the following requests: medical needs (including dental and vision), city utilities (excluding deposits and late fees), gas and electric utilities (excluding deposits), rent only if need is caused by medical issues or domestic violence, grocery vouchers - one-time emergency, and People Rides.
Centralized Financial Assistance is open to anyone in Linn County that needs help with financial assistance (e.g. rent, utilities, etc.). Local area agencies that help with financial assistance in the Linn County area are transitioning to a Centralized Financial Assistance center that can help direct residents of Linn County to the appropriate financial assistance resources in their area. This is a collaborative effort between United Way of East Central Iowa, Linn County, Waypoint and local community agencies. If you need help with rent, utilities or mortgage in the Linn County area you MUST call the Centralized Financial Assistance number to get help from the following participating agencies:

- Marion Cares

Provides assistance to individuals and families who are facing a crisis situation with food and/or shelter. Homeless prevention services can assist families who are facing eviction or utility disconnection in preventing their family from becoming homeless. Crisis funds may be available for one month’s rent, utilities, or groceries for a short period of time. This assistance is intended for individuals and families who need temporary, one-time assistance to resolve an emergency situation.
Provides financial assistance for rent, utilities, transportation, and prescriptions.
Provides rent payment assistance for households with an eviction notice and utility assistance for households with a utility disconnect.
May also help with deposit payment for new rental housing.
