The Michael Barlow Center offers literacy tutoring, high school preparation, and employment preparation training. The small-class format is designed to offer individual assistance for the adult student who has been away from school for some time or has difficulty learning in a large classroom environment. The focus is on basic math skills and reading/writing skills.The Michael Barlow Center also offers two skills training programs in the construction and culinary fields. These programs equip participants with the skills needed to enter the field, as well as industry knowledge and credentials to work their way up to well-paying positions.

Chicago Botanic Garden Windy City Harvest's Corps Program employs 30 to 40 justice-involved individuals and veterans in closely mentored, full-time, paid transitional jobs and supports them in finding full-time, long-term employment each year. Crew members work on Windy City Harvest farm sites Monday through Thursday, gaining hands-on technical training. On Fridays, crews participate in Roots of Success and Job Club. Windy City Harvest staff support each crew member in developing a resumé and cover letter, preparing for interviews, and searching for jobs. Crew members also receive weekly feedback from their crew leader on Fridays to help develop workplace readiness skills.

R.I.S.E. Project is a reentry program that focuses on comprehensive reentry planning at CCDOC/IDOC/Juvenile Detention Centers. The goal of the program centers on the introduction of educational, employment, and entrepreneurial training meant to assist with mapping goals and resources needed for successful transitions back into communities. Upon release, participants are connected to the services outlined in their reentry plan and supported by R.I.S.E. to assist with transitions into gainful employment, educational training, and/or entrepreneurial endeavors.
