Pet welfare/veterinary visits for seniors' pets

PAWS Chicago Community Outreach works to remove barriers to accessing spay/neuter - like transportation. They build relationships, share educational information, and provide resources including a pet-food pantry, pet training advice, and veterinary care. They are there to connect with pet lovers who do not have access to these vital services and won't receive them without intervention.

South Suburban Humane Society strives to provide access to veterinary care for everyone with the aim to bridge the gap between high-quality service and affordability. Services may include wellness visits, surgery, microchipping, dental cleanings, or heartworm treatments.

Provides state-mandated and County services relating to animal control and animal protection. • Investigations are done regarding nuisance complaints, allegations of animal cruelty or neglect, as well as reports of stray, roaming or injured animals; or dangerous, vicious or biting animals
• Present educational programs to schools and community and civic groups

PAWS Chicago Lurie Clinic provides spay/neuter for free and at a reduced cost to make sure it is accessible for all pets. Pricing is tiered so everyone can afford it. In addition to spay/neuter surgeries, the Lurie Clinic offers optional low-cost annual preventive services during Vaccine Clinic hours, including: vaccinations for rabies, distemper, bordetella, and canine flu, canine heartworm testing, feline FeLV/FIV combo testing, microchipping, Bravecto for flea and tick prevention, and Tri-Hear for heartworm prevention.
