Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) works with the Midwest Adoption Center (MAC) to help individuals make appropriate connections to support their adoption search. Confidential Intermediary Services of Illinois is one of the options administered by the Midwest Adoption Center to assist in the search process. A confidential intermediary has access to information from the court, the adoption agency, and birth/death/marriage/divorce files.

Provides support services for adopted children and their families, including: Counseling and support groups Mutual consent registry Mediated communication between birth and adoptive families Search and reunion services Financial assistance for kinship adoptions (Subsidized Guardianship Preservation)
