Works with the Dolly Parton Foundation to mail free books to children from birth to age 5 years. Each month, a new book is mailed in the child's name directly to their home.
Funds Dolly Parton's Imagination Library for McHenry County. All children in McHenry County from birth to age 5 can be signed up by a parent to receive a free book in the mail each month.
Provides free books to children ages 5 and under on a registration basis.
Provides all children between the ages of 0 to 5 to receive a high-quality, age-appropriate book to all registered children, addressed to them, at no cost to the child’s family.

The books will arrive about 8-10 weeks after registration has been approved.
Imagination Library is a preschool based program where children (birth to 5 years) can receive a new book in the mail every month until age 5 to enhance their reading skills.
Offers free books for children each month.
Provides a variety of services through the Outreach Department:
- The Bookmobile currently visits 48 stops every three weeks in the city of Bloomington. Check online for schedule.
- Home Delivery Service will bring books to the home for those who live in Bloomington and are unable to come to the library.
- Deposit Collections are delivered on a rotating schedule to nursing homes and childcare centers.
Sponsors book boxes around the community to help promote literacy. Individuals may take a book or leave a book; when done, books may be returned to any Little Library or passed onto a friend.

Offers the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and United Way of Mahaska County.
