Counseling is available immediately after an assault or at any later date. Counseling sessions can provide a place for survivors to express their feelings, thoughts, and fears.

Assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Assistance is based on household income, size, type of fuel and type of housing. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households. Persons applying must meet 200% poverty guidelines. LIHEAP also offers a crisis program that may be able to assist homeowners who are with no heat or limited heat. The furnace component for crisis runs October 1-April 30th. May be able to help with repairs on a furnace but cannot replace the furnace. Keep checking back on the furnace program as it is dependent on funding that changes frequently.
Provides non-perishable food items and donated fresh produce, when available, once a month. Diapers and formula also offered, when available.

Offers HAWK-I which provides the CHIP benefits (Children's Health Insurance Program) which offers health care insurance coverage for Iowa children in families with limited incomes. Offers FIP (Family Investment Program) a cash assistance program for children and their families who have low income, also available to relatives caring for children whose parents are not in the home. The goal of FIP is to help families leave poverty and become self supporting, can participate for up to 60 months. FIP is Iowa's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
Provides circuit court services to Vermilion County residents. The Circuit Clerk is part of the administrative arm of the judicial branch of government. Also collect fines and assessments ordered by the court, to be disbursed accordingly.
