Callers are screened for eligibility, and a determination is made whether eligible callers have a legal problem that falls within the priorities. If the caller’s legal problem is eligible for review for extended services, the caller is referred to one of our five regional offices. If the callers are not eligible for referral to a regional office, attorneys provide the caller with immediate advice or quick access to other information and resources.

Other services include free pregnancy testing for women of any age, testing/treatment of sexually transmitted diseases for males and females, hormone replacement therapy, sterilization, education programs on sexual responsibility, female camp, school and sport physicals, and annual examinations for adult women. Bus tokens may be available for those with transportation needs.
Currently enrolling Iowa women in a program that provides free birth control services to those who have no insurance and meet income qualifications. Can provide long acting reversible birth control to any woman who medically qualifies for little to no out-of-pocket expense.
Teen pregnancy prevention program addresses questions relating to sexuality issues such as pregnancy, abstinence, birth control methods, and sexually-transmitted diseases. Anyone may request a free Teen Pack or Parent Pack, which include information on teen parenting, communication, birth control methods, and sexually transmitted diseases.

Audiovisual equipment is available for checkout. Proctoring services are available with notice. Cardholders can receive a bus pass for traveling home on Iowa City Transit buses. Available year-round to all ages. Limit two passes per week, one pass per day.

Offers SERVSAFE® classes for food service professionals, providing comprehensive training on food hazards, proper food handling practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure food safety and prevent foodborne-illness outbreaks.
Participants will gain knowledge to improve food quality and learn techniques that support the protection and utilization of food products. The program includes a 6-hour course and certification exam, offering the opportunity to become a certified Food Protection Manager through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Open to individuals in the restaurant and food service industry, the training also serves as a resource for those involved in commercial food production activities such as farms, aquaculture facilities, and other food-related ventures.The WIC and SNAP outreach programs seek to assure that limited-English-proficient immigrants and refugees eligible for WIC and SNAP benefits can successfully access these programs administered by IDHS.

Pediatric Developmental Screening provides evaluation and assessment to determine whether there are developmental delays or other issues that need to be addressed.
WIC provides healthy food, nutrition education and counseling, and breastfeeding support for pregnant and breastfeeding individuals, infants, and children. Also provides referrals for health care and other services.
Family Case Management provides family case management services to pregnant individuals, infants, and children with high-risk medical conditions. Also offers assistance with help finding a doctor for prenatal
Students who participate in free monthly lunch-provided workshops and other activities may be eligible for limited financial assistance. Students must be currently enrolled at WNCC and apply for the program. The program is co-located with the TRIO Student Support Services program.
