Offers the following transportation services for Waukegan Township seniors: Weekday Medical Transportation Provides curb to curb transportation for medical appointments within the township. Rides must be requested in advance. Shuttle runs weekdays only and is equipped with a wheelchair lift. Weekend Transportation Provides curb to curb transportation on weekends for travel within 10 miles. Rides must be requested in advance. Walking aids must be able to fold down for storage. Transit Card Issues a debit card to be used for personal transportation services. Funds can be used for any type of transportation service including taxis and ride shares.

Provides a 24-hour crisis hotline for youth and parents. Provides confidential crisis counseling by phone, text, and email. Offers help with mental health and life issues, such as:

• Suicide prevention and ideation
• Anxiety, depression, and anger
• Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse
• Parenting troubles
• Teen runaways
• Chemical dependency
• School issues and bullying
• Relationship problems

Provides curb-to-curb transportation to older adults and people with disabilities of West Deerfield Township. Priority given to medical appointments, but non-medical transportation may be available. Participants must be able to get to and from van without assistance of driver. Caregiver may ride with participant. Offers up to two round trips per week. Taxi-Cab Coupons: Provides taxi cab coupons for seniors and adults with disabilities. Coupons may be used for one way rides to and from Highland Park Hospital and are valued at $4.25.

Provides outpatient mental health services to youth and their families. Treatment Services include: Trauma-informed therapy for individuals, families, and groups, Crisis intervention, Substance abuse counseling, Case management, Psychiatric/medication services. Service Programs include: Screening Assessment and Support Services (SASS): A 90-day crisis intervention program, psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management; and case management. Treatment lasts about 3 to 6 months; Mental Health Juvenile Justice Program (MHJJ): Serves youth ages 8 to 18 years old; AND have had contact with the juvenile justice system within the last 90 days; OR are at risk of juvenile justice involvement; An MHJJ liaison that works with children and their families for six months and connects them to treatment resources; Intensive Placement Stabilization (IPS): serves youth who are in DCFS Youth in Care; AND are at risk of losing their current foster home placements; OR have just transitioned between placements; The Family Support Program (FSP): Serves children under 18 who need more intensive community-based therapeutic services or residential treatment services.

Offers financial aid to help Township residents prevent loss of home, job, or utilities. Funds are available once every two years and provide help to meet basic needs, including:

• Preventing eviction or past due rent/mortgage
• Preventing utility disconnection
• Work-related expense necessary to getting or keeping a job (for example, uniform or licensing fees)
• Cost of prescription medication

Amount of assistance determined on a case-by-case basis. Program does not disburse cash as all funds will be paid directly to vendors.

Promotes a variety of social and sports programs for youth, adults, and individuals with disabilities. Facilities include an aquatic center, golf course, ice rink, and a challenge course.
