Provides Investigation into allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older adults, and persons with disabilities, who live in domestic (non-institutional) settings. Abuse can be defined as physical and emotional abuse, financial exploitation, confinement/neglect, deprivation of food or medication, sexual abuse, and self-neglect. Services include:

• 24 hour hotline with standardized report screening
• Investigation of all reports with/or without substantiation
• Case work and advocacy for substantiated victims to mitigate the effects of the abuse
• Monthly follow-up and monitoring (up to 12 months) to ensure the client remains safely in their own home
• Early Intervention Funds - temporary financial assistance to assist in alleviating effects of abusive situations

Investigates allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older adults and individuals with disabilities who live in a domestic setting. Interventions and referrals offered to any victims including but are not limited to in-home services, legal, medical, relocation, and counseling.

Provides aging and adult protective services throughout East Central Illinois. Services provide case workers conducting investigations and working with vulnerable adults in resolving these abusive situations financial exploitation, physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse. 

Provides caseworkers who respond to and investigate reports of abuse, neglect (including self-neglect and hoarding), and exploitation. Caseworkers develop and implement a care plan in order to stabilize the situation and reduce the risk of further harm. Anyone who suspects abuse or neglect should report it. All reports are confidential. Reports can be anonymous.

Offers 24-hour intakes by phone at the local number and the state hotline. A caseworker will make a home visit to investigate any allegations of abuse and assist the victim. Interventions will be offered to the victim and referrals made to the appropriate organizations. Provides help vulnerable adults with navigating abusive situations that they may encounter by providing resources to help mitigate risk of vulnerable adults that meet the criteria of the program.

Adult Protective Services. Call or fax to report suspected cases of adult abuse or exploitation. Investigates and provides services to elderly and mentally or physically disabled persons age 18 or older who require protection from abuse or neglect.

Child Protective Services. Call or fax to report suspected cases of child abuse or exploitation of children. Services may be offered during and following an initial assessment to protect the child and improve the conditions that contributed to the risk of abuse and neglect. Services that may be offered include in-home family therapy, family support services, day care, case management, and temporary foster care.
