BA NIA's Birthing Assistant (Doula) supports the mother throughout the duration of her pregnancy to promote safe and healthy delivery. This is done by providing an array of support and non-judgmental guidance, referrals, and resources. The Birthing Assistant attends prenatal appointments, creates birthing plans, and empowers the mother to advocate for herself through education. BA NIA's Birthing Assistants are trained, qualified, and certified to provide support during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Postpartum Support Specialist pays special attention to the mother's needs after the birth so that she can nurture her baby while she herself is healing physically and emotionally. BA NIA's postpartum support specialist (PSS) supports the mother for a minimum of 8 weeks. They assist mothers with breastfeeding support, provide an array of referrals, and do light housekeeping. In addition but not limited to this, a mother can receive assistance with meal planning and preparation along with childcare and attending postpartum appointments if needed.
