Health and Safety Services offer courses in first aid, CPR, child-care, nurse assistant training, babysitting, swimming-life guarding and more on a regular basis. Courses and training are offered at the Chapter facilities or can be arranged at different localities for businesses and groups. Blood Services collects blood donations and supplies safe blood and blood products to local healthcare providers. Also offers various types of volunteering opportunities for adults and youth.

Offers a free weekly family night including dinner, activities, and bible study.

Offers resources and services designed to meet the learning needs of the community. Also provides programs that introduce and encourage reading. Resources include:

Offers financial aid to help Township residents prevent loss of home, job, or utilities. Funds are available once every two years and provide help to meet basic needs, including:

• Preventing eviction or past due rent/mortgage
• Preventing utility disconnection
• Work-related expense necessary to getting or keeping a job (for example, uniform or licensing fees)
• Cost of prescription medication

Amount of assistance determined on a case-by-case basis. Program does not disburse cash as all funds will be paid directly to vendors.

Provides formula, baby food, and diapers for clients once a month. Also accepts referrals from local churches and agencies for those in need of emergency clothing and baby materials.

Coordinates educational services for students who are experiencing homelessness. Acts as a link between family, shelter, and school to serve the needs of the student.

Provides prescription drug and sharps disposal boxes for outdated or unused prescription drugs. The collection boxes are located in the police department lobby. Items acceptable for the prescription disposal box include:

• Prescription medications, including controlled substances
• All over-the counter medications
• Medication samples
• Pet medications
• Vitamins and supplements
• Medicated ointments, lotions, creams and oils
• Liquid medication in leak-proof containers
• Homeopathic remedies

Items not acceptable for deposit in the collection box are:

• Needles/sharps
• Syringes with needles
• Thermometers
• IV bags
• Bloody or infectious waste
• Personal care products
• Empty containers
• Hydrogen Peroxide

Sharps Container available in the lobby for needle disposal. Sharps include:

• Syringes
• Hypodermic Needles
• Needles attached to tubing
• Lancets

To properly dispose of needles, do the following:

• Must use an approved disposal container that fits inside the disposal bin
• DO NOT deposit any loose sharps into the collection bin

Health clinic offering free medical and behavioral health services for uninsured adults in Lake County. Patients are seen by an interprofessional student team and treated by a supervising healthcare provider. Offers the following services:

• Check ups
• Basic acute illness visits
• Vaccinations
• Chronic disease management
• Physical Therapy
• Podiatry (including diabetic issues)
• Behavioral health (including anger management, pain management, weight management, eating disorders, pain disorders, and couples therapy)

Also provides information for low-cost pharmacy formularies and discount drug programs.

Seasonal program that distributes warm winter gear to individuals and families in need. Items are based on donations but may include winter coats, boots, gloves, scarves, snow pants, and blankets. **Community members must contact their local Township office, school counselor, or social service agency to request coats and winter gear. No public distribution event for 2025 season.**

Responsible for repairing and maintaining roads in the township, including: Roadside mowing Tree trimming Snowplowing and ice control Drainage, storm sewers and culverts maintained to ensure proper flow of water Development and implementation of storm water program Street sign maintenance Dead animal removal

Provides financial counseling and coaching to help clients gain financial success. Conducts comprehensive analysis of clients' situation and develop an action plan. Addresses budgeting, increasing savings, decreasing debt, and improving credit scores. Provides follow up services to track progress and continue coaching, if needed.

Offers customers a budget plan to help stabilize their monthly bill. Calculates customer's estimated yearly energy cost and divides billing into 12 equal payments. If customer paid too much, a credit will be applied to the bill. If a customer paid too little, the balance will be spread over the new Budget Billing year.
