Provides the following services for children and youth:

Provides a food pantry for local residents. Food panty is drive-up service, but residents receive a menu to make pantry selections. Also distributes dish soap, toilet paper, and hand soap supplies when donations are received. Dog and cat food is also regularly available.
Offers GED, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Academic ESL (AEP) programs, as well as basic skill instruction in reading, writing, and math.
GED Program provides instruction in language arts, science, social studies, and math to prepare students to complete their State of Illinois High School Diploma (GED), and to assist the interested students in preparing for enrollment in college courses, training programs, and employment.
ESL Program can help students improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Classes range from providing basic language skills for beginners to helping advanced students prepare for high education, training, or a career.
Academic ESL Program program is designed to assist advanced-level, non-native English speakers to prepare for and transition to further education at RCV, career readiness, and success skills are included.
AEP coursework covers grammar, writing, reading strategies, listening and speaking vocabulary development
Community programs open to anyone impacted by cancer regardless of where they receive treatment, live, cancer type, or where they are currently in their cancer journey. Programs include:
- Wellness programs such as, guided meditation, yoga, Healing Kitchen, etc.
- Salon/spa programs, complementary therapies such as, massages, facials, reflexology, reiki, etc.
- Education and information.
- Support groups.
- Wigs are provided to all cancer patients free of charge.
Provides housing opportunities.
Provides GED classes for students with reading levels at 4th grade and above. Each student will also be offered case management to help them succeed and overcome any barriers that may stop them from furthering their education. This program also provides free scholarships for students who are ready to take a GED test or a practice GED test and cannot afford the fees.
Provides legal information about the legal rights and responsibilities, instructions on how to handle common legal problems, assistance with some legal documents and forms, and referrals to free and low-cost legal services to residents of Ogle County.
The Center does not provide legal advice to its patrons.
Provides law enforcement services.
Offers an older Adult and Senior Activity Center that provides seniors a place to gather and socialize. Staff will help refer those in need to other agencies for help as needed. The Center also acts as a warming/cooling center for the general population of DeWitt County during times of emergency or disaster.
The Friendship Center is also a Peace Meal congregate and home-delivery site. Peace Meals are available weekly, Monday through Friday.
Promotes preventative healthcare practices including responsible behaviors to prevent unintended pregnancy and reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
Testing available for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.
Provides education and training in approved training programs in local community colleges. Can help with the cost of tuition, books, fees, required tools, and any additional items required by the program. Program also provides a work experience and on-the-job training component.
Work Experience offers subsidizes wages at a local employer for 1 to 6 months to help customer gain experience to gain permanent employment.
On-The-Job Training offers subsidizes half of hourly wage for a set period of time at a local employer with the intention of the employer retaining the customer after training is complete.
Provides an emergency assistance program through Illinois American Water and the Salvation Army. Intended for temporary relief of water utility crisis beyond applicant's control.
Provides eligible families with opportunities for youth to participate in community, school, and family activities to help them grow, learn, build self-confidence, and become more engaged in life skill development.
DCFS has the primary responsibility of protecting children and strengthening families through the investigation and intervention of suspected child abuse or neglect by parents and other caregivers.
DCFS links families with community services to address struggles families are having, offers preventative services to referred families in an attempt to keep family units together to address findings of abuse/neglect, and works with families who have children under the legal custody of DCFS while working to reunify families when possible or provide a permanent home for children.
As part of its duties, DCFS also licenses and monitors all Illinois child welfare agencies, child care agencies, domestic and international adoption providers, and group homes in the state.
Provides support for individuals mourning the loss of a loved one. Services include bereavement counseling, social workers support, grief support groups, educational programs, and memorial gatherings.
Prepares for, responds to, and assists with recovery from emergencies and disasters, whether natural, manmade, technological, or acts of terrorism. Provides the Premise Alert Program (PAP) is a safety program that supports individuals living with disabilities as well as First Responder (Police, Fire, Ambulance personnel) units responding to calls at a specific address. In order to promote safety and understanding PAP will assist first responders to identify individuals who have specials needs.
Services to help survivors of domestic violence, older adults, people with disabilities, and immigrant survivors of violence and trafficking:
- Orders of Protection for people experiencing domestic violence.
- Divorce, custody, or child support in cases involving domestic violence or child endangerment.
- Elder abuse, including financial exploitation.
- Other court orders to stop abuse, harassment, or stalking.
- Immigration issues faced by survivors of domestic violence and trafficking.
- Guardianships of minors and adults to ensure safety and stability.
Offers to protect the health of the public in the event of an emergency.
Works with Emergency Management and a wide range of community partners to keep the residents of the County safe. These partners represent the medical community, law enforcement, fire departments, schools, emergency management agencies and many other agencies on the local, state and federal level.
Provides in home medical services. Services include but not limited to skilled nursing, medication management, therapy (OT, PT, ST), and medical social worker services.
A centralized location to service all city needs, including but not limited to: applying for permits/licenses, filing complaints or appeals, reporting issues, requests for information and/or assistance, register for programs, and paying city bills.
